Your MLM Blueprint – have belief in yourself
When you decide to start something new, you would expect your friends, family and colleagues to be supportive of your new hobby, sport, job, challenge or venture. But it doesn’t always turn out that way.
If you choose something that they can relate to, like a sport or a job where they can see the path you will take, they will encourage you to do well and achieve success, without any feelings of threat to themselves or your relationship.
If you choose something which they know little about, their reaction could be much different, and probably they will show curiosity at best, and positive opposition at worst.

MLM or Network Marketing often falls into this category because you will find yourself learning about your industry and creating a path of growth in yourself as a person.
Often, when you choose to start a Business, the closer you are to someone, the more the negative reaction, and the ones who say “you can’t” and “you won’t” are probably the ones scared that you will.
As long as you are on any sort of path towards success there will always be people who will speak and hope against you. BUT if you have a CLEAR and STRUCTURED Blueprint you will find it easier to stay on track

When I first started in an MLM, many years ago, I had a lot of pryamid scheme reactions from family members, bit now they get it. Sometimes it just takes a little education.

Great post and a wonderful point! I am not in MLM but I do have an online Life Coaching practice. Many people are not supportive or as you said, are just confused, because they don’t understand not only Life Coaching but also online business. Since the beginning it has had to be total self-reliance on my own capabalities and what has kept me going is that I have helped guide people not only in my own town but people all over the country and the world. My writing and Coaching has impacted many more people than if I had a small office in town. No matter what you are doing, believe in yourself and do not rely on other people’s understanding of approval.

As you say Tonya, many people do not support what they don’t understand. Online business is really liberating because, like you do, one can connect with people all over the world – but it takes courage to take a route less travelled and forge ahead whatever others think – I take my hat off to you for being Brave
I’m not that familiar with MLM but I have several friends who have MLM businesses. Creating a brand is very important. Especially if the majority of your business is online. Personally, I enjoy connecting with people all over the world. Knowing I can build my network and open up opportunities to travel is outstanding!

thanks for your comments, you’re so right about the brand Christy – for any Business – bur highly necessary for MLM to distinguish yourself amongst other distributors of the same products and create your own Identity online. It is amazing connecting and working with people in faraway places, and as you say, many travel opportunities
I think you are so right about how people react to our new endeavors. It’s always interesting to see how people will react to the way we chose to reach for more success in our lives. Usually the people that are negative are not negative towards us but rather their perception of success. They often have fears and deep down wish they be the ones exploring new opportunities.
