The K.I.S.S. Close: Your Ultimate Closing Script Guide for Social Prospecting

Do you find the “closing’ stage of the prospecting process uncomfortable, or maybe it’s hard to find the right words at the right time, after all, ‘who knows what someone could ask you!’

Well I have compiled a free Guide to take you through this maze of uncertainty and bring a system and clarity to your closing step in the recruitment process.

The K.I.S.S. Close, (Keep It Super Simple) is just one way of doing this, and very good to use with people already in the industry. But many people don’t have experience of network marketing, so there are also some scripts to help in there, in fact, here’s what you get…

Begin with the Close in mind!

Everyone you talk to could be your customer or business partner. I’m not saying every conversation you have should be prospecting but that somewhere down the line in your daily networking or friends and family conversations, people will give you a line that ‘opens’ your prospecting scripts ‘mind’, or ask you about your business.

At that stage, focus on your prospecting scripts, choosing one relevant to their status or question, and prepare to get to the Close swiftly.

Be genuine with people … network marketing can be a new concept for some, or it could be a change or an additional business for current network marketers.
They will want to know that joining you will enable them to build their business with your coaching, a ‘going places’ team and a strategy to follow.

Where are you now?

So, that moment has arrived when you have to follow-up collect a decision and move your prospects forward in your business or transfer them to a follow-up list to visit them in the future.

At this stage, you will have shown your prospect your company video with an overview and background of the product and the basics of what it takes to start building a business.

This sounds simple, but you may find your prospects has some Questions, often termed Objections, which will need to be overcome to complete this stage of the recruitment process. So we are going to address a number of these so you can be prepared

You may well be speaking to people with completely different knowledge when it comes to network marketing, and some may have none at all, so there is not really any way you can predict what they might ask you.

Everyone is looking to see what’s in it for them, and can they do what it takes, so remember this as you are responding to them

You have no idea at this stage whether this conversation / chat will be a short sprint or a marathon run, so get ready, relax, and go for it!

Get prepared

Decide whether to use:

  • video chat, Skype, zoom
  • the phone
  • messenger chat, audio, video, phone
  • 1 to 1 meeting

Using the phone is recommended because it’s an easier place to ‘hear’ what they are thinking, and people are less likely to make excuses and give you a direct response.Remember, you are looking for a Yes or No so either way it is better to face the question head on and not have to keep chasing people, or they stop answering your messagesBut you choose, it’s your business! And you may even have a Social Marketing system in place like our business which has a complete online strategy.

In Your Mind:

Understandably, this is the stage where new network marketers often fall down due to lack of confidence. Of course, confidence is gained from experience, which means… Get to this Closing stage as soon as you can and keep practicing!

And Avoid…

  • getting stuck in ‘chatland’ on social media (limit yourself to x messages)
  • not closing because you are worried what they will ask you!
  • sounding like you care what they say

  • believe you have already hit your first level before you begin • with every conversation you get better
  • it doesn’t matter whether they say Yes or No

How to OPEN the CLOSE

Speak like you are expecting them to join … they will pick up that vibe. If they question / object then follow the objection guidelines below and use the conversation as a learning process. Be interested in their objections and you will soon get the hang of turning them around with the Objection Prompts

Closing is about guiding people to the sale, and many people don’t get many because they don’t ask, because they are frightened of rejection! Get comfortable with this, and learn to ask!

SO … If you’ve got this far, then You are ready to Download your Free Guide:

I have found when being “sold to”, that I prefer to be guided than demanded. A demanding sale, just guilts me into something and I’ll probably regret it and cancel it two days later. But if I am slowly guided, given time to think, and the proverbial “ball is in my court”, then I’m willing to take the sale.

        Hi Johanna,
What you say is spot on, selling to me is actually to be able to provide something that someone actually wants to buy that will help them in some way. That step by step approach you mention is often the way to ensure that the products benefits are explored and matched to needs and any questions answered along the way. Certainly in the case of someone joining a business as in the above post! If it’s a simple product sale, then I try to provide the exact features and benefits for people to assess themselves.
        Great comment, thanks ๐Ÿ˜€
